OUR AUTHOR
Chun Ji-hye
Chun Ji-hye is a trailblazing Korean storyteller whose works span romance, comedy, thriller, historical fantasy, and beyond. Starting as one of Naver’s first-generation web novelist, she has built a dedicated readership with her vivid characters and high-concept plots. Uniquely, Chun often adapts her own stories across media – from page to webtoon to television – crafting a cross-media universe that captivates fans in multiple formats.
Her hit The Forbidden Marriage leapt from a viral web novel to a prime-time K-drama scripted by Chun herself, while other titles have inspired webcomics, interactive games, and even a French graphic novel. Readers flock to her works for their imaginative premises (a Joseon “death note” ledger, a zombie-run gig economy, a loveable man who is literally part puppy, and more), relatable emotion, and cinematic flair.
Chun’s genre range is wide – from heart-fluttering romantic comedies to spine-tingling thrillers – yet all share her hallmark: engaging, fast-paced storytelling with global appeal. She combines Korean cultural elements (Joseon-era settings, K-drama humor) with universal themes of love, justice, and self-discovery. With multiple adaptations already produced or in progress, Chun Ji-hye’s IP universe is primed for international audiences across print and screen.
Patrick Rangsimant
Patrick Rangsimant (Utain Boonorana, M.D., FRCP) is one of Thailand's most distinctive contemporary authors. A practicing neurologist by profession, he has built a unique body of work that transforms neuroscience, psychiatry, memory, identity, and human perception into compelling commercial fiction.
Blending psychological thriller, speculative fiction, mystery, horror, romance, BL, and medical drama, Patrick has established a recognizable creative signature: stories in which reality itself becomes unreliable and the human mind emerges as the ultimate mystery. His works do not simply use medical conditions as background elements. Schizophrenia, dementia, Capgras Delusion, temporal lobe epilepsy, Kleine–Levin Syndrome, grief disorders, trauma, and memory distortion become the narrative engines that drive suspense, emotion, and revelation.
The result is a distinctive storytelling territory that may best be described as the Neuro-Psycho-Thriller.
WHY PATRICK RANGSIMANT?

A rare combination of practicing physician and bestselling storyteller whose medical expertise provides authenticity rarely found in commercial fiction.

Burmese journalist and novelist Khet Zaw is the author
of Empire of Shadows: Rangoon Noir, a historical
crime novel set in late-colonial and wartime Rangoon.
The novel follows Lanmadaw Phoe Toke, a street
fighter who rises from Rangoon’s backstreets to become
the city’s most feared underworld boss. Against a
backdrop of gang rivalries, corrupt police, nationalist
politics, Indian and Chinese power brokers, and the
coming of World War II, his empire expands—then
begins to collapse.
Originally released online before print publication, the
Burmese edition sold over 100,000 copies. The English
edition has been restructured for international readers,
with faster pacing, cinematic clarity, and strong
character-driven tension.
Atmospheric, violent, and morally complex, Empire of
Shadows is ideal for readers of historical noir and crime
sagas, with strong potential for serialized TV, streaming,
or webtoon adaptation.
