Mua is a Korean picture-book creator who enjoys adding imagination to the children, neighbors, and everyday places encountered in ordinary life. Secret Friend was her first original picture book for children and grew out of the experience of living through the COVID-19 pandemic with her daughter. She later created Daddy, When Will You Come?, continuing her interest in children facing uncertainty, isolation, separation, and emotional change. Mua’s stories use gentle fantasy and approachable animal or child characters to transform difficult experiences into narratives of connection and hope, while her illustrations remain closely grounded in the familiar spaces of family and daily life.
