LOGLINE
A directionless man is murdered and returns as a powerless ghost, only to find purpose helping the living while racing to solve his own death before his last family ties disappear.
SYNOPSIS
Heo Young-poong drifts through his thirties without ambition, direction, or much connection to anyone—until a serial killer abruptly ends his life. Awakening as a ghost, invisible and unable to touch the world, he expects death to be as pointless as life was. Instead, he begins interfering in the lives of people he once knew: protecting an old love, helping a desperate friend, confronting his grieving family, and eventually searching for the truth behind his own murder. With each strange afterlife mission, the man who believed himself useless discovers purpose for the first time. Darkly funny and unexpectedly moving, the novel transforms a murder mystery into a story about regret, second chances, and learning how to live only after dying.

AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY
Na Hyeok-jin is a Korean mystery and thriller writer with extensive experience editing and writing genre fiction. His work combines suspense, social observation, and emotionally grounded characters, often using crime or supernatural premises to explore questions of responsibility, regret, and human connection. His novels include Scar: The Truth of Black Shadows, Brother, and Ghost’s Life Records. Brother has drawn screen-adaptation interest, while his later fiction has established him as part of a new generation of Korean genre writers who move comfortably between realistic crime, dark humor, and speculative storytelling without losing sight of the human lives at the center of the mystery.
