LOGLINE
Embarrassed by her yoga-loving mother, a child discovers on sports day that difference can become strength, pride, love, and joyful lasting family confidence.
SYNOPSIS
A child feels embarrassed by a mother who seems unlike everyone else’s. Mom practices yoga, walks around in unusual exercise clothes, makes animal shapes with her body, and remains completely unconcerned when other children tease. But on Sports Day, the child’s perspective changes. The same movements that once seemed strange suddenly reveal Mom’s remarkable balance, flexibility, speed, strength, and confidence. Pride replaces embarrassment, and the child begins to recognize just how extraordinary this unconventional mother really is. Warm and playful, the picture book celebrates family individuality, self-confidence, mindfulness, acceptance, and the moment when seeing someone differently can deepen love and respect.

AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY
Kim Su-jeong is a Korean children’s author whose first picture book was My Mom Wears Underpants Over Her Pants. Her writing focuses on family relationships and the ways children interpret adults who seem different from those around them. Kim Taeran is a Korean illustrator and picture-book creator who has illustrated many children’s books, including Oliver Twist, Aladdin, The Overcoat, Ant Garden, Rice-Paste Grandpa, and My Mom Wears Underpants Over Her Pants; she later wrote and illustrated The Star Miner Child. Together, Kim Su-jeong’s lively family story and Kim Taeran’s expressive illustrations turn a child’s embarrassment into affection, pride, and a broader celebration of individuality.
