In the imaginary kingdom of Tamhwa, an old prophecy demands that a pure princess sacrifice her life to awaken the Four Guardians and save the land. Donghae has been hidden in a remote forest since birth to escape that fate, while Prince Irang has grown up wounded by the same prophecy. When the two meet and awaken the guardian spirits, they are told that Donghae must die.
