Yong-dal is a Korean picture-book author and illustrator who studied art, design, and illustration before developing a distinctive career in visual storytelling. His original works include The Magic Scissors, while he has also illustrated numerous books for young readers. In this adaptation, Yong-dal reimagines Hesse’s characters as frogs, using bold imagery and compressed storytelling to introduce the novel’s themes of identity, awakening, and self-discovery to younger readers.
