A poor artisan’s son befriends a lonely princess and learns that silk flowers can preserve memory, dignity, friendship, and beauty beyond loss forever.

SYNOPSIS

Thirteen-year-old Dorae grows up in a family of palace artisans who create gungjung chaehwa, exquisite silk flowers for royal ceremonies. Frustrated by poverty and his mother's exhausting labor, he dismisses the craft as useless fake flowers. But when his father is injured and Dorae enters the royal workshop, he encounters skilled artisans, brilliant dyes, and a mysterious girl named Jeongso. Their friendship gradually changes the way he sees beauty, labor, and inherited knowledge. When Jeongso is revealed as Princess Jeongso, daughter of King Sejong, Dorae learns that handmade flowers can carry devotion, memory, grief, and love long after real blossoms fade.
