SYNOPSIS
Yoo Dong-in is a bookstore curator and aspiring mystery novelist; Kang Aram is his college friend and a rookie police detective. When Aram starts bringing difficult cases to Dong-in, his literary instincts and intimate knowledge of books prove unexpectedly useful beside her streetwise police experience. Across four seasonal mysteries—a suspicious traffic accident, a missing woman, poisoning at a bookstore event, and a desperate crash—the mismatched pair uncover crimes rooted in ordinary Korean life. AUTHOR BIOGRAPHY
Kim Jae-hee is an award-winning Korean mystery novelist and screenwriter. She graduated from Yonsei University and earned a master’s degree in cultural arts management with a focus on film scenario writing. Her debut novel The Hunminjeongeum Assassination Case became a bestseller, and she later gained wide recognition for the Gyeongseong Detective Yi Sang series, which won the 2012 Korean Mystery Literature Award. Kim has written historical mysteries, contemporary detective fiction, and screenplays, and her work has also reached international readers. The Bookstore Detective Yoo Dong-in series reflects her ability to combine realistic crimes, literary settings, warm character chemistry, and tightly structured mystery plotting.
