When the remains of three children surface ten years after they vanished, a veteran journalist reopens the cold case—and uncovers a second death that suggests the truth was never lost, only buried.

SYNOPSIS

Ten years after three children vanished from a mountain without a trace, their skeletal remains suddenly appear in an area investigators had searched repeatedly. Journalist Kim Hwan, who covered the original disappearance, cannot understand how the bodies could have remained hidden for a decade. Then a man connected to the old investigation is found dead, pulling Hwan back into a case buried beneath years of memory, institutional failure, and unanswered questions. Drawing on the author’s three decades as a broadcast journalist, Beyond Memory uses newsroom politics, police procedure, and tightly connected clues to build a realistic cold-case thriller in which every recovered fact forces the past into a new shape.
